Danuta Szaflarska


Danuta Szaflarska is a Polish screen and stage actress. In 2008 she was awarded the Zota Kaczka for the best Polish actress of the century. Szaflarska participated in the Warsaw Uprising as a liaison. Szaflarska was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta, Commanders Cross and Commanders Cross with Star, one of Polands highest Orders and Gold Medal of Gloria Artis .

Szaflarska was born in Kosarzyska, PiwnicznaZdrj . She married her first husband, Jan Ekier, a pianist, in 1942. They had one daughter, Maria. The pair divorced. Her second husband, Janusz Kilaski, was a radio announcer. He is father of Szaflarskas second daughter, Agnieszka. Kilaski and Szaflarska also divorced. Szaflarska turned 100 in February 2015. She is a regular employee of Teatr Rozmaitoci in Warsaw, specializing in modern and progressive drama, and currently appears indifferent plays at the theatre.
